The Tennessee Titans are shuffling their team colors and prioritizing ‘Titans Blue’ blue as their primary shade for the 2025 NFL season.
The light blue uniforms were introduced leading up to the 2003 season and quickly became synonymous with the club, which wore navy blue and white throughout its history.
On Thursday, March 27, the team announced that their new signature color would be the dominant, common denominator for their jerseys moving forward.
‘We’re talking to fans and we’re listening, and there’s a clear appetite to have the Titans, their team, represented on the field in this noticeable color that has been with this team from 1960 in Houston, into Memphis, at Vanderbilt and as we’ve played at Nissan Stadium,’ Titans President and CEO Burke Nihill told the team website.
‘We’re going to emphasize that this year and change to Titans blue as the primary color. As we sit here today, the plan is to wear Titans blue at every one of our home games this year.’
The announcement was parlayed with pictures of the new jerseys for 2025. The kits feature Titans blue as the base, navy blue jersey numbers, white strips on the shoulders, and the team logo printed in white on the chest.
The Tennessee Titans will make Titans Blue their primary jersey color in the 2025 NFL season
Since introducing the light blue uniforms during the 2003 preseason, the Titans have emphasized the ‘Titans blue’ some years more than others.
Starting in 2008, the team made Titans blue their primary uniform for several years. They later wore it as their color rush uniform and more recently used it to complement their navy and white uniforms.
The color became more prominent in 2024, when the Titans wore it four times, including two regular season games.
With the emphasis on Titans blue in 2025, the team will not be sporting their throwback Oilers jerseys this upcoming season.
Nihill added that the team will continue to pay tribute to players of past and present with the light blue uniforms and highlight a color that has been part of their scheme since 1960.
‘Our fans, our players, they love it,’ Nihill said. ‘The Titans blue has always been a part of this organization, and there is something that is uniquely this organization when that color is the dominant color.’
‘You see it, and you know the team that is being represented – it’s the Titans.’
