The Telephone Exchange footpath, Highley
Ten stretches of public footpaths across Shropshire are being resurfaced in the coming weeks.
The work is being carried out by Multevo on behalf of Shropshire Council’s outdoor partnerships team – and is concentrating on the footpaths most in need of repair.
James Owen, Cabinet member for housing and leisure, said:
“Although Shropshire has very few tarmac public footpaths, our outdoor partnerships team must still maintain them to a safe standard, just like the many pavements that our highways team maintains. This list represents the highest priority tarmac footpaths that we currently have.”
The work is being carried out as follows:
- Broseley – Crews Park Jitty: Monday 4 to Wednesday 6 August
- Highley – Telephone Exchange: Thursday 7 to Monday 11 August
- Highley – St Peter’s View: Tuesday 12 to Thursday 14 August
- Shrewsbury – Pengrove: Friday 15 to Tuesday 19 August
- Albrighton – Bowling Green Lane: Wednesday 20 to Friday 22 August
- Shifnal – Beech Drive: Tuesday 26 to Thursday 28 August
- Bayston Hill – Yewtree Drive (1): Friday 29 August to Monday 1 September
- Bayston Hill – Yewtree Drive (2): Tuesday 2 to Wednesday 3 September
- Market Drayton: Queen’s Street car park path: Thursday 4 to Monday 8 September
