The Darwin Shopping Centre in Shrewsbury will host a free family Super Heroes Day on Friday 31 July [2026], bringing costumed character appearances, a web shoot challenge and a day of superpowered fun to the town centre.
Running from 11am to 4pm on the Centre’s middle level – near The Entertainer – the event is free to attend and open to all. Families can meet costumed super heroes, take part in the web shoot challenge, and enjoy a day out designed for young hero fans of all ages.
The event forms part of The Darwin’s ongoing summer programme, which aims to give Shrewsbury families a reason to visit the town centre during the school holidays while supporting footfall to the centre’s retailers.
Kevin Lockwood, centre manager at The Darwin, said:
“Summer in Shrewsbury is about giving local families somewhere enjoyable to spend the day together, and this event does exactly that. We know how much our younger visitors love a bit of costumed fun, and we’re looking forward to welcoming heroes of all ages to The Darwin on the 31st.”
The Darwin continues to serve as Shrewsbury’s primary enclosed shopping destination, drawing visitors from across Shropshire and Mid-Wales, with family-friendly amenities including Darwin’s Den soft play, baby changing and Changing Places facilities, and a dog-friendly policy throughout the centre.
