A student from the elite Brighton Grammar School in Melbourne has been exposed as the troll who told Adelaide Crows star Josh Rachele to ‘end your life please’ in a disgraceful message on Instagram.

Brighton Grammar, which charges annual tuition fees of more than $60,000, made the pupil apologise to Rachele.

The boy has also faced disciplinary action, but it is unclear if he was suspended.

The development also comes just weeks after the brother of Crows captain Jordan Dawson was found dead in South Australia.

Rachele shared screenshots of the schoolboy’s vile message, with the caption ‘hope you’re happy with yourself pal’.

In a follow-up post, Rachele said: ‘let’s choose kindness’.

‘Mental health matters in every space, including sport,’ the midfielder said.

‘Messages like these are never welcome. Words have meaning, words have impact.’

The Daily Mail understands the incident was not reported to police.

The message surfaced after Rachele kicked the final goal in Adelaide’s 98-61 win over Richmond at the MCG on May 10.

At the time, Rachele infuriated some Tigers supporters after making a ‘hanging up the phone’ gesture.

Brighton Grammar School headmaster Ross Featherston said the Instagram message was ‘unacceptable’.

‘I want to be absolutely clear that any form of ill-considered and negative online commentary, particularly regarding mental health, is unacceptable and has no place at Brighton Grammar School,’ he told News Corp.

‘We pro-actively deliver student programs that educate and support positive, respectful behaviour and clearly set expectations for our students’ conduct.’
