The Golden State Warriors have reached an agreement with head coach Steve Kerr to extend his contract for another two years.
The money involved in the deal is not immediately clear but according to ESPN’s NBA Insider Shams Charania, the terms will see Kerr remain as the best-paid coach in the league. He is currently paid in the region of $17.5million a season in California.
Furthermore, it means Kerr will now lead the team into a 13th season at the helm.
The two parties had been deep in talks over what the future holds after the Warriors finished 10th in the Western Conference in 2026.
Kerr has won four NBA Championships in his time with the team and is adored by teh team’s fanbase.
Earlier in the week, it was reported by respceted NBA reporter Marc Stein that ESPN executives were trying to convince Kerr to leave his job for a broadcasting role.
