Veteran NFL tight end David Njoku finally has a new team after signing with the Los Angeles Chargers.
It was revealed on Monday morning that the 29-year-old has agreed terms on a one-year contract worth $8million.
Formerly of the Cleveland Browns, Njoku will now form a key piece of new Jim Harbaugh’s offense in Los Angeles under the leadership of new coordinator Mike McDaniel.
Njoku spent nine seasons with the Browns but decided to look for a new team at the end of last season. His last contract in Cleveland was for $54.75m over four years.
‘The time for me to find a new home has come,’ Njoku posted on social media on February 10.
He has 384 career catches for 4,062 and 34 touchdowns. He had 33 receptions for 293 yards and four touchdowns in 12 games last season.

Njoku earned Pro Bowl recognition in 2023 after reaching career highs with 81 catches, 882 yards receiving and six touchdowns.
Cleveland drafted the former Miami star with the No. 29 pick overall in 2017.
He will become a vital new weapon for Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert and the new offense being installed under ex-Dolphins head coach McDaniel.
The Chargers already have four tight ends on their roster, including the impressive Oronde Gadsen. He enjoyed a breakout rookie season, with 664 receiving yards last year.
