Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry reportedly suffered a ‘scary moment’ in practice when he collided with a teammate.

The Athletic’s Ravens beat writer Jeff Zrebiec posted on Tuesday that ‘there was a scary moment’ in practice where Henry went down after a ‘freak collision’ with a defensive lineman.

His teammates were so worried they took a knee while he lay on the ground after the brutal hit that occurred when Henry didn’t even have the ball.

Eventually, Henry managed to return to his feet before briefly leaving the field. After sitting out a few plays, he eventually returned to action.

Speaking after practice, Henry told reporters: ‘Just banged knees. I was fine. I probably laid there too long.’

‘The ground felt like a bed for a little while,’ he continued. ‘And I saw you all (reporters) looking hot and bored, so I was like, “I need to give them something to tweet and write about”.’

Henry has been one of the most dominant running backs in the NFL in recent years with both the Tennessee Titans and Ravens. He has rushed for over 13,000 yards in his career, scoring 122 touchdowns.

It comes after the Ravens’ star quarterback Lamar Jackson was absent from the voluntary practice.

‘Lamar’s been one of our leaders of the offseason program, and he had a couple things going on yesterday and today, and I do expect him to be back soon,’ said new head coach Jesse Minter, who replaced John Harbaugh after last season.

‘We’ve had some great conversations. I know when he’s going to be back and again, I’ll probably leave those between me and Lamar.’

Jackson’s attendance at these types of OTAs has been sporadic over the years. It’s hard to say how much that matters, but it’s certainly an issue critics have pointed to from time to time.

His contract, with two years remaining, has also been a significant topic lately after he and the Ravens did not agree to an extension before the start of free agency. The Ravens instead restructured Jackson’s deal to create cap space.
