Solicitor General Ellie Reeves has referred the sentence of Henry Nowak’s murderer to the Court of Appeal under the unduly lenient scheme.
Vickrum Digwa was in June sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum of 21 years for the murder of Mr Nowak, an 18-year-old student, in a case that has sparked protests nationwide.
Ms Reeves said “this case horrified me”.
