Shropshire Council is excited to announce the launch of a comprehensive Autism Employment survey aimed at gathering valuable insights from individuals who are autistic, whether diagnosed or self-identifying.
This initiative is part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing the support and services available to autistic people, including those with other neurodivergent conditions.
We encourage all autistic people over the age of 16 years to take part in this important survey and share their experiences. Your input will help us create a supportive and inclusive environment for all.
The survey seeks to capture a broad range of experiences and perspectives on employment. We are particularly interested in understanding recruitment practices, workplace support and how we can encourage a wider understanding of autism among employers across Shropshire.
By participating in this survey you will help us identify what is working well, the gaps in support, and how well young people feel prepared for work.
Cecilia Motley, Shropshire Council cabinet member for Adult Social Care and Public Health said:
Shropshire Council is deeply committed to supporting services for autistic individuals.
This survey is a crucial step in understanding the unique challenges faced by our autistic community and will help us tailor our services to better meet their needs. By participating in this survey, you are not only helping us improve our support systems but also contributing to the local economy by helping remove barriers to employment.
Together, we can create a more inclusive and supportive environment for everyone.
The findings from this survey will inform our future service provision and help us develop clear priority areas and goals for our all-age autism strategy. This collaborative effort involves working closely with stakeholders and individuals with lived experience to ensure that our approach is both inclusive and effective.
