Jack Draper was seen relaxing ahead of his long-awaited return to tennis this week.

The British No 1, 24, hasn’t played since he was forced to withdraw from the US Open in August with an arm injury.

He is in Norway with Great Britain’s Davis Cup team ahead of their qualifying tie against the Scandinavian country in Oslo.

And, before the action gets underway on Thursday, Draper took a plunge at a Norwegian outdoor sauna.

The 24-year-old was seen alongside fellow Brit Jacob Fearnley enjoying himself and one photo showed him jumping into a pool.

But eagle-eyed fans also noticed something new with Draper’s appearance as he was snapped in his swimming shorts.

During his absence through injury, Draper appears to have added to his body artwork as he was spotted with a new tattoo.

The tattoo is on the right side of his lower midriff, with some of it hidden by his shorts, although it was unclear what exactly it was.

Some fans speculated it was something to do with a flame, and it adds to the two other pieces of artwork he has on his body.

These include a lightning bolt on the outside of his left arm alongside the words ‘someone said’ on his left bicep.

Draper’s return to tennis comes after he enjoyed the best year of his career in 2025 as he rose to fourth in the world rankings and won the Indian Wells title.

‘I think last year definitely started off amazingly well,’ Draper said when reflecting on 2025.

‘The second half was extremely challenging, but I took a lot of belief and confidence from the first half of the year and what I achieved. I’ve kept that in mind and I want to be competing right at the top of the game.

‘It’s going to be a bit of a challenge and a journey to get back to where I was, just because I’ve been out for such a long time.

‘At the same time I’m constantly getting better and I’m constantly improving still. I hope I get to show that sooner more than later.’

Draper may come up against three-time Grand Slam runner-up and world No 12 Casper Ruud in Norway, but he will joined in a strong British team by Fearnley and Cameron Norrie.

And Draper, who has won only one of his four Davis Cup matches, was excited for the challenge ahead.

‘They’ve obviously got a young player, (Nicolai Budkov) Kjaer, who was number one in the world juniors and playing great tennis on the tour,’ he added.

‘He’ll be really tough and we all know Casper Ruud has been a top-10 player for a long time.

‘It’s going to be a great challenge for us all, but I think we’re ready to embrace it and we’re ready to fight for every point.’
