The alleged domestic dispute that led to Green Bay Packers star Josh Jacobs’ recent arrest prompted at least one worried neighbor to call 911.
Milwaukee’s TMJ4 News has revealed 911 calls from Tuesday’s incident in which dispatchers describe a chaotic scene at Jacobs’ Wisconsin home.
‘Can hear yelling and screaming,’ said one dispatcher. ‘Things being thrown. Open Line. Possibly a male and female.’
A follow-up 911 call from a nearby resident added to the urgency of the situation.
‘The neighbor is calling now saying her neighbor [redacted] was assaulted,’ the dispatcher said.
The Packers running back allegedly drove away in his Mercedes G Wagon, only to be tracked with license-plate monitors.
Jacobs turned himself into police after the alleged incident. He’s since been released from jail
‘Yeah, at this point we’ll want that vehicle stopped if you come across it,’ another dispatcher is heard saying.
Ultimately deputies and an ambulance arrived at Jacobs’ home to meet with the unidentified victim. Jacobs would later turn himself in to police.
He was booked on a slew of domestic violence charges, including battery-domestic abuse, criminal damage to property-domestic abuse, disorderly conduct-domestic abuse, strangulation and suffocation, and intimidation of a victim.
However, less than 24 hours later he was released with authorities saying they are ‘not prepared to make a formal charging decision’ based on current evidence.
The Brown County DA’s office said in a press release that there is a distinction between the evidence threshold for arrest and the evidence threshold for charging.
The threshold for arrest is ‘probable cause,’ while charges would require evidence of a crime ‘beyond a reasonable doubt.’
The office has called for further investigation with a final charging decision to be made at a further date.
It added that it has reason to believe that ‘additional evidence may exist that would impact whether criminal charges are appropriate, and what charges would be issued.’
In a statement provided to Daily Mail, Jacobs’ attorneys, David Chesnoff, Richard Schonfeld and Clarence Duchac, said: ‘We are extremely pleased that Josh has been released from custody and that no criminal charges have been filed against him.
‘As we previously stated, we encourage everyone to keep an open mind while the matter is fully reviewed.
‘We remain confident that, once all of the evidence is gathered and evaluated, it will confirm that no charges should be brought against Josh in the future.’
Jacobs previously sparked dating rumors with influencer and OnlyFans star Ash Kash back in February, after sharing a video of them holding hands on a beach on his Snapchat story
Back in February, the Packers star sparked dating rumors with influencer and OnlyFans model Ash Kash, after the pair were seen holding hands in a Snapchat post.
Neither Jacobs nor Kash ever commented on the rumors.
The Packers said in a statement on Tuesday that they were aware of the situation but refused further comment.
Head coach Matt LaFleur did, however, address Jacobs’ arrest during OTAs on Wednesday shortly before the player’s release.
LaFleur said the team is ‘going to let the process play out,’ before adding that he would not provide any further comment.
The Packers cancelled a player media availability for Wednesday’s schedule with only LaFleur addressing reporters.
