The Champions League final will be moved to a new stadium after the San Siro was stripped of its hosting privileges.
The iconic stadium was set to host the 2027 showpiece for the first time since 2016 when Real Madrid were victorious over Atletico Madrid.
However, following UEFA’s Executive Committee meeting in Prague on Tuesday, it has been decided that a new venue will be found.
The decision comes after the Municipality of Milan failed to guarantee that the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza would not be affected by planned renovations.
A statement read: ‘Municipality of Milano could not guarantee that the San Siro stadium and its surroundings would not be affected by refurbishment works’.
UEFA added that the new venue will be name by June 2025.
