“I grew up around the corner and the club holds a really special place in my heart,” he told the club’s website., external

“You can see what’s building here and where the club wants to go. I know it’s not been the best season but everyone here wants to make this happen and I want to be a part of it.”

Sharks are seventh in The Prem with four matches to go this season, having lost 10 of their 14 games.

Sale’s director of rugby Alex Sanderson added: “I love what Ben Bamber is all about and I love what he represents for this part of the world and how that represents the kind of club we want to be.”
