The Royal Mint is launching two collectable “ice and fire” 50p coins to mark 15 years of fantasy drama Game Of Thrones.
The coins have been made in collaboration with Warner Bros Discovery Global Consumer Products.
The collection is built around the elemental duality that defines Game of Thrones – ice and fire.
A selection of 50p coins will feature colour, bringing both designs to life.
Game of Thrones first aired in 2011 and the show has inspired a passionate global fanbase.
Fans can order both coins from 9am on Wednesday from The Royal Mint, with delivery expected in autumn 2026.
Rebecca Morgan, director at The Royal Mint, said: “Game of Thrones captured the imagination of millions around the world, and 15 years on, that passion is still as fierce as dragon fire.”
She added: “Whether you’re a lifelong fan or discovering the Seven Kingdoms for the first time, these coins are a stunning tribute to one of the greatest stories ever told.”
Prices for the coins start from £15 for a brilliant uncirculated coin and £27.50 for a brilliant uncirculated colour coin, with a silver coin priced at £92.50 and a gold coin available for £2,420.
Last month, the Royal Mint released a 50p coin celebrating 100 years of the Grand Prix in Britain.
The coin was unveiled at Brooklands in Weybridge, Surrey, the venue that hosted Britain’s first Grand Prix in August 1926, and was pictured alongside a Delage car.
The Royal Mint said it is the first time motorsport has been honoured on one of its official UK coins.
The Grand Prix in Britain 50p has been designed in collaboration with London-based agency Interstate.
The “tails” side of the coin captures the sweep of Grand Prix history and technological evolution, featuring a historic racing car from the original 1926 Brooklands race sitting alongside a 2026 Formula 1 car.
A selection of the coins also feature colour.
Rebecca Morgan, director at The Royal Mint, said: “For 100 years, the Grand Prix in Britain has captured the nation’s imagination, from the thundering engines at Brooklands to the wheel-to-wheel battles at Silverstone.
“This coin is a true landmark for us. It is the first time in The Royal Mint’s history that motorsport has been celebrated on a UK coin, and we couldn’t be prouder to mark such a momentous centenary in this way.
“Whether you’re a dedicated collector or a Formula 1 fan counting down the days to race weekend, this coin is an absolute must-have piece of history you can hold in your hand.”
