Roy Keane has become synonymous with the phrase ‘it’s his job’ and the Manchester United legend recited that line once again on Sunday.

Keane is a pundit for ITV during the World Cup and was among their panel for Sunday’s second World Cup match of the day between Belgium and Iran.

In the build-up to that encounter, a segment of the show reflected on England’s 4-2 win against Croatia on Wednesday.

At half-time the scoreline was 2-2 in Arlington after the Three Lions twice threw away the lead.

In an interview with ITV, England midfielder Declan Rice hailed the impact of head coach Thomas Tuchel at half-time in inspiring them to victory.

But after watching that interview, Keane believed that too much praise was going towards Tuchel.

“Is it a bit of an overreaction to his team talk?

“That is his job…” 😅

Tuchel has been hailed for helping mastermind England's 4-2 win over Croatia on Wednesday

Roy Keane (left) has called praise for Thomas Tuchel’s half-time team-talk ‘an overreaction’

‘Is it a bit of an overreaction to his half-time team talk?’ the former Man United and Republic of Ireland captain said.

‘What’s he supposed to do!? That is his job, isn’t it.

‘That’s the manager’s job to give them the information to go out there and produce.

‘That’s what any top manager does, you get them at half-time and remind them what they’re supposed to be doing.’

The Three Lions will hope Tuchel does his job once more on Tuesday when they take on Ghana in their second game in Group L in Foxborough.
