Romeo Beckham, the second-eldest son of footballer David Beckham and Spice Girl Victoria Beckham, is set to make his acting debut in a new French film.
Forty Love, directed by renowned fashion photographer Pierre-Ange Carlotti, will see Beckham star opposite Paul Kircher (The Animal Kingdom), Guillaume Canet (Sink or Swim) and Benjamin Voisin (The Stranger).
The story centers on Sacha Gallo (Kircher), a tennis prodigy chasing Grand Slam glory in Paris under the watchful eye of his father and coach. But the arrival of a magnetic new challenger, played by Beckham, threatens not only his championship dreams but also his sense of identity.
“For the first time, he faces an opponent of an entirely different nature — love,” the synopsis reads. “A force as exhilarating as it is destabilizing — and far more dangerous than anything he has encountered on the court.”
Producer Hugo Selignac said there “is a rare tenderness, melancholy and strength” in Carlotti’s images, “and his move into directing felt like a natural next step to me,” according to Variety. He described the film as a “sensual, romantic and deeply moving romantic fable and coming-of-age story” about the “demands of high-level sport, and everything that lies beneath the surface … led by outstanding performances.”
In recent years, Beckham has worked as a model and brand ambassador for luxury brands including Yves Saint Laurent and Balenciaga.
Previously, Beckham switched between pursuing careers in football and tennis, even training with Andy Murray in the late 2010s.
After returning to football with spells at USL League One club Fort Lauderdale CF (renamed Inter Miami II in 2022) and Brentford F.C. Reserves, Beckham left the sport in 2024 to follow a career in fashion.

The 23-year-old made headlines just last week after being fined and receiving penalty points for using his phone at the wheel of his Porsche 911, with an unrestrained dog also present in the vehicle.
The model was stopped by police in Westminster last September when an officer saw him with both hands on his mobile phone instead of the steering wheel while stationary at a red light.
Magistrate Phillip Jordan imposed a £440 fine and three penalty points on his licence. Beckham was also ordered to pay £130 in court costs and a £176 victim surcharge.
According to IMDb, Forty Love is currently in post-production and is expected to be released on November 25.
