DAN SKELTON needs a good day to have any hope of recording a first trainers’ title and he should have a great chance of getting a winner on the board with GOT GREY (NAP) in the 2.05 at Haydock. Well beaten on his three starts this year without the assistance of a tongue tie which has been reapplied, the six-year-old has been dropped 6lbs by the handicapper as a result. This return to better ground will suit and he looks a good bet.
In the 3.35 at Musselburgh, WISE EAGLE (NB) can record a sixth course success on only his seventh appearance at the track. Victorious in this race last season off a mark of 98, he can follow up this year off only a 5lb higher mark, with the benefit of race fitness over most of his rivals.

GWEEDORE (NAP) returns quickly after finishing second over this course and distance just six days ago. First-time cheekpieces go on, he is well handicapped and today’s race represents a drop in class.

COVER UP showed smart form for Godolphin last year and ran well in Dubai over the winter for new connections. He will benefit from a likely strong pace and Oisin Murphy takes the ride.

ALIGN THE STARS won three consecutive handicaps last summer before struggling in two Group races. He looked well before his recent reappearance in Listed company at Nottingham and finished a close third.
