- The Rock and Cena aligned at Elimination Chamber ahead of WrestleMania
- It has been, however, unclear whether The Rock will be present at April’s event
The Rock’s WrestleMania status has reportedly been revealed following his shock alliance with John Cena.
Cena, who turned heel for the first time in his career at Elimination Chamber, will face Cody Rhodes for the WWE title in the main event of WrestleMania, likely on the second night on April 20.
In what is the final year of his career before retiring, the 16-time world champion is looking to win a record-breaking 17th title, which would see him go clear as having the most ever, ahead of Ric Flair.
Fans were left stunned to see him join the dark side earlier this month in an event that saw him attack Rhodes and join forces with The Rock in a bid to become a corporate champion.
Therefore, he has his fellow Hollywood star on his side, but the status of ‘The Great One’ for WrestleMania has been up in the air ever since his match at last year’s event.
According to Wrestling Observer Radio, his status remains up in the air, with it tough to put together any clues that have been given so far.

It appears that his status is still unclear – meaning it is not obvious if he will be in Cena’s corner
The publication states that a WWE source said ‘it’s what you think’ in terms of whether The Rock will be involved.
It could suggest not everything is totally in place, with some expecting that the man in question won’t be present due to him having no match, unlike last year when it had seemed clear.
It could, though, mean he will be by Cena’s side against Rhodes in a bid to help him out in terms of the storyline.
Just a few months ago, it had been suggested that The Rock was to miss the event completely and fans were left even more confused on the back of a positive interaction with Rhodes during the company’s Netflix launch at the start of the year.
His Hollywood schedule is understood to be tight, but only one night would be needed for him to appear in Las Vegas and play a part in the storyline at the event.
