Locals close to England’s Kansas City hotel have put on a united front to post good luck signs welcoming the Three Lions to town.

However, a walk through the nearby middle-class area of Overland Park suggests that all may not be well between neighbours.

While a couple of homes have pro-Donald Trump, Make America Great Again signs in their front lawns, others are less than supportive of the divisive president.

Indeed one sign, spotted by Daily Mail Sport, sent out an apologetic message to those visiting the country for the World Cup. ‘Dear World,’ it read. ‘Sorry our president is a bag of d***s. Sincerely, half of USA.’

As Daily Mail Sport reported, the FA obtained permission from the Beatles before putting together a Fab Four-inspired squad unveil video. And the relationship appears to be getting better all the time.

Last week Sir Paul McCartney turned 84 and his daughter, Mary, took to social media to post a picture of the Liverpudlian legend in an England jersey with ‘McCartney 26’ on the back. Inside Sport understands that the shirt was a ‘thank you’ from the FA for his backing for the video, which earned rave reviews.

England are proving so popular in the US that police in Dallas launched an operation to arrest enterprising hawkers who were doing a nice line in knock-off jerseys. Inside Sport understands a number of arrests were swiftly made close to the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, where the Three Lions triumphed 4-2 over Croatia in front of what felt like a hugely home crowd.

England’s match against Croatia in Dallas was the site of multiple arrests by local police

Following the bungled kit theft revealed by Daily Mail Sport, security has been stepped up at England’s training ground. The facility is now surrounded by police with journalists ordered to park in laybys and display their credentials before being permitted entry.

While some of his team-mates headed for the baseball on a day off, Jude Bellingham pitched up at a Midwest restaurant specialising in foods from the east. The playmaker, who scored in Wednesday night’s victory over Croatia, happily posed for pictures at Clay & Fire, a restaurant which describes itself as ‘Kansas City’s destination for a dining experience reminiscent of the Near East’.

The venue features dishes from Turkey, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Iran, with each given a Kansas City twist.

Amid reports that the Prime Minister could be set to resign, the question on the lips of some England supporters in Boston’s bars this weekend has been whether they can still sing ‘Keir Starmer’s a w****r’ on Tuesday if he has already stepped down.

Former Manchester United midfielder Casemiro appears to have sparked a row after he jettisoned LA Galaxy to sign for Inter Miami.

Not only have the Galaxy demanded $1m for the ‘discovery rights’ they have also asked for Miami to be fined up to $1m for tampering with their negotiation. Galaxy had registered the rights and offered the Brazilian a contract before Miami stepped in.

They have agreed terms with Casemiro who is on around $1.8m dollars for the year and have been negotiating to reduce the compensation figure to Galaxy.

The deal has raised eyebrows among other MLS clubs who believe Miami flaunt the salary cap rules and get away with more because of the profile owner Sir David Beckham and superstar Lionel Messi bring to the league.
