It’s that time of the year again – the transfer window is now open until September 1 and it’s sure to be a busy period with clubs looking to make big signings ahead of next season. Here are today’s latest developments from Simon Jones and the Daily Mail Sport team…
English clubs keeping tabs on Belgian giant
Union SG’s Ross Sykes is attracting interest from at home and abroad, with several clubs in the Premier League and Championship monitoring his situation.
The giant central defender has been plying his trade in the Belgian Pro League since 2022, winning the title and two Belgian Cups.
He’s featured in the Champions League and was an integral part of the side that nearly won consecutive league titles.
Clubs in Germany and Italy are looking at the 27-year-old, who came through at Accrington Stanley. Panathinaikos have registered interest.
Union are expected to want a fee in the region of £2.5million for a player who regular finds the net from set pieces and has impressive defensive statistics.

Madrid ready to go in for Enzo
Real Madrid are preparing their move for Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez.
Their interest in the Argentina international has long been trailed by Daily Mail Sport but they have also been assessing the merits of other options including West Ham’s Mateus Fernandes, who is wanted by Manchester United.
Offers are expected to materialise in the coming days.
United have also been attentive to Aurelien Tchouameni’s situation at the Bernabeu as Jose Mourinho’s squad overhaul continues though the France international is keen to stay in Madrid.

Liverpool agree £34.5m deal for Spain’s Munoz
Liverpool have agreed to pay the £34.5m clause for Victor Munoz from Osasuna after beating off Newcastle United to the move on Wednesday.
The fee will be paid in two instalments and follows extensive and discreet work on the Spain winger which culminated in Munoz committing to Liverpool despite the rival interest of Newcastle, Manchester United and Bayer Leverkusen.
