2GB’s Mark Levy has accused NRL icon Laurie Daley of having hair plugs installed to maintain the illusion that he isn’t suffering from baldness.

Levy dropped the news on the Continuous Call Team on Friday, much to the disbelief of his co-hosts, footy greats Mark Geyer and Mark Riddell.

The trio were discussing how the NSW Blues coach will deal with several injury blows for the team with the first State of Origin match looming when Levy made the stunning call.

‘Do you reckon Laurie’s pulling out all those hair plugs at the moment with all these injuries?’ Levy began.

‘Has he got hair plugs?’ an incredulous Geyer replied.

‘Oh, please. Hello! I love “Loz”, but come on, what’s doing?’ Levy shot back.

Levy asked if Daley (pictured) is ‘pulling out all those hair plugs’ as his NSW Blues side is hit by a string of high-profile injuries with the first Origin clash just around the corner

When Geyer maintained Daley has ‘nice, jet-black hair’ and Riddell asked if the NSW boss has ‘got a rug’, Levy responded with a sarcastic, ‘No comment.’

‘Do you really want to rattle Loz right before Origin?’ Riddell asked.

‘I will not have you drive a wedge between me and the great man,’ Levy joked.

‘Loz, I love you, but what’s doing with the melon?’

The discussion came about after some of the Blues’ biggest stars suffered injury setbacks with the first match to be held on May 27.

Forwards Liam Martin and Payne Haas are set to miss the clash due to knee injuries, Roosters star Angus Crichton is battling a sprained medial collateral ligament, Latrell Mitchell is missing time with a back complaint and prop Max King is sidelined with a broken jaw.

If Levy is correct and Daley has had treatment for hair loss, he would join a long list of famous sportsmen to have done so.

AFL stars Chris Mayne and Brendon Goddard have been up front about getting medical treatment for baldness, as have V8 Supercars great Will Davison and former Test cricket star Greg Matthews.

Footy great Kane Cornes, who is now a top commentator with Channel Seven, tackled his hair-loss problem with Mosh.

Shane Warne is arguably the most high-profile Aussie star to have received help for baldness, beginning treatment with Advanced Hair Studio in 2006.

Daley stamped himself as one of rugby league’s all-time greats in a stellar career that saw him play 246 matches and win three premierships with the Raiders in addition to starring for NSW and Australia.
