King Charles III’s goddaughter has revealed a sweet gesture Princess Margaret made before the then-Prince of Wales’s wedding to Princess Diana.

Speaking to Gyles Brandreth on his Rosebud podcast, India Hicks explained that she had been watching the firework display in London’s Hyde Park the night before the 1981 royal wedding, when she realised she couldn’t get across London back to her mother.

She explained that Queen Elizabeth II’s sister then took her back to stay at Kensington Palace, but she hadn’t brought anything with her to stay the night.

There came a knock on the door, “and there was Princess Margaret in her nighty offering me her toothbrush,” Hicks added.
