How did you fare against our experts in Daily Mail Sport’s Predictor challenge in Gameweek 32? Did you manage to beat our Midlands man, Tom Collomosse?
It proved a tricky set of fixtures, with not a single player successfully calling all seven results.
That said, 26 of you came agonisingly close, landing six correct predictions – a fingernail away from perfection. Not bad at all in what was a tough weekend to read.
Newcastle shattered plenty of perfect-score hopes on Sunday, sweeping aside relegation-battling West Ham 3-1 at St James’ Park despite many having expected a far tighter contest.
The weekend kicked off with our Midlands man, Collomosse, showing sharp instincts about Aston Villa as Unai Emery’s side powered to a 4-2 win over Liverpool on Friday night.
On Sunday, as Michael Carrick edges ever closer to the full-time role, his side continued to impress – albeit with a little help from referee Michael Salisbury – securing a 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest.
Elsewhere, Brentford shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace, Leeds edged Brighton 1-0, and Sunderland hit back from a goal down to beat Everton 3-1 at Hill Dickinson.
Finally, already-relegated Wolves managed to grind out a point against Fulham at Molineux.
As for our experts, James Sharpe topped the standings with four correct predictions.
Collomosse came second with three, before Manchester City reporter Jack Gaughan and Manchester United man Nathan Salt followed with two apiece. Finally, Liverpool correspondent Lewis Steele brought up the points-scoring rear with one.
Sharpe now leads the overall standings on 113 points after 32 rounds, four clear of Gaughan, setting up a final-day showdown. The rest, however, are out of contention, with the gap proving too much to bridge.
