A magnitude 6 earthquake struck the Samar region of the Philippines on Monday, the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) has reported.
The tremor occurred at a depth of 10km (6.2 miles).
It has led the Philippine seismology agency, Phivolcs, to warn that damage and subsequent aftershocks are expected.
