Philadelphia sports talk radio personality Mike Missanelli was arrested on Wednesday morning for allegedly assaulting his fiancée, according to police in the suburb of Lower Merion.
Police received a 911 hang-up call just after midnight and responded to an address in a neighborhood roughly nine miles away from Center City Philadelphia.
Officers who responded spoke to Missanelli, who revealed he and his fiancée got into an argument which turned heated and resulted in a ‘scuffle,’ according to the criminal complaint.
Missanelli told police his fiancée struck him in the chest. His fiancée claimed that the argument was about their engagement and resulted in the radio host slapping her with an open hand and leading to a cut on her forehead and swelling on her ear.
According to court records obtained by the Daily Mail, Missanelli was arrested and charged with second-degree misdemeanor simple assault and summary harassment – subject other to physical contact.
He was held on $10,000 bail, which he has already posted. His next court date is a preliminary hearing scheduled for April 22.

In a statement posted on X, OnPattison said, ‘The Fideri News Network, corporate parent of OnPattison, became aware of the charges against Mike Missanelli this afternoon through media reports. In light of the nature of the allegations, Mike will not be a part of OnPattison Podcast during the legal process.’
Missanelli previously worked at WIP-AM radio 610 and at 97.5 The Fanatic in the ‘City of Brotherly Love.’
In 2006, Missanelli was fired from his job at WIP after an altercation with an on-site producer where he was alleged to hit the producer.
Missanelli also had a notorious on-air argument in May 2020 when he got in a heated debate over a bird watching incident in Central Park when a white woman called police on a black man. Missanelli was seen throwing his headset in anger and continuing his argument through a commercial break – where he was seen cursing at a co-host.
Missanelli’s contract at 97.5 expired in May of 2022. He has since gone on to host a podcast with OnPattison.
