Drake Maye paid a glowing tribute to his wife Ann Michael ahead of the Super Bowl, saying marrying her ‘was one of the best decisions I made in my life’.
The New England Patriots quarterback and his wife are fast becoming one of the NFL’s newest power couples and their stardom will rise exponentially if Maye can claim Super Bowl glory against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.
Ann Michael became an immediate fan favorite when Maye was drafted by New England in 2024 and her stardom has increased in recent months thanks to her heartwarming baking series.
Her viral ‘Bakemas’ TikTok videos thrust her into the spotlight before Christmas and the 22-year-old continued her rise to fame last month when she supported her husband in the AFC Championship game.
Maye met her husband when they were children and they quickly became middle school sweethearts. She graduated from UNC in May 2025 with a degree in business administration.
And Maye was full of praise for his wife’s influence on both his life and football career at the Super Bowl’s opening night on Monday.

He said: ‘Getting married was one of the best decisions I made in my life. I think of my wife and from that day they say good things happen when you get married, and I think that’s the case so far in my life.
‘What a blessing it has been to have Ann Michael and know to come home to someone who cares about my day and able to hear something outside of football, listen to what she’s done today and just knowing there is a constant in my life and that’s my wife.
‘Every day I come home to somebody that’s herself, cares about me for who I am off the field and there are just so many things that marriage has helped me with.
‘I think just this year, just living with my wife, really being the first woman I’ve ever lived with besides my mom. Knowing how much that changes how I have to pick up after myself, take care of my things in the house.
‘She’s the boss but at the same time it’s been awesome to have her cook meals so I don’t have to worry about scrambling to find dinner when I come home late at night – she’s got it ready. Don’t take that for granted. I know how special she is to my career and in my life.’
Earlier on Monday, Ann Michael shared a snap of herself to her Instagram account at a Pilates class.
The flick showed off her toned six-pack abs while she donned a matching grey workout set as she sat with her legs crossed on a Pilates reformer.
‘Happy Super Bowl week!!!’ she captioned the post, adding two white heart emojis.
While she wore all grey, the Patriots are set to wear their all-white uniforms by choice as the designated home team for the game.
