The reflective glare emanating from East Rutherford, New Jersey has been identified as the slick new suit Patrick Mahomes wore to the Kansas City Chiefs’ Sunday Night Football game against the New York Giants.
The 30-year-old quarterback was pictured by the Chiefs’ social media team as he arrived at MetLife Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Fans were split of the silvery grey ensemble adorned with a black tie and shoes. Several likened the suit to metallic household items.
‘Is he wrapped in aluminum,’ one critic wrote.
Another joked he ‘had that wrapping paper last Christmas.’
Several others likened the look to the Tin Man from The Wizard of Oz.

Of course, this is the Chiefs’ X account and not New York Fashion Week, so many Kansas City fans were supportive of the look, as déclassé as it may have been.
‘SSSSSSSSSSSSSMOKIN’ HOT,’ one enthusiastic supporter wrote on X.
Several others wrote that Mahomes had a ‘sharp suit,’ while one crowned the Super Bowl winner as the ‘Swag daddy.’
Mahomes also sported a pair of Oakley shades in the post, which was naturally sponsored by the sunglasses manufacturer. Unfortunately for the brand, the black sunglasses worn by Mahomes failed to generate the same response as his suit.
The Chiefs and Giants both entered Week 3 at 0-2. The reigning AFC champions are a 6.5-point favorite after falling to the Philadelphia Eagles in last week’s Super Bowl rematch.
Mahomes has just two touchdown passes to go with one pick over the first two games. What’s worse, his 58.8-percent completion rate ranked just 30 out of 34 NFL passers this season.
