Patrick and Brittany Mahomes received a huge reality check Tuesday as they were spotted juggling their brood.
The Kansas City Chiefs star has enjoyed an offseason of rest and relaxation, including a Fourth of July yacht party, as he attempted to brush of the heartbreak of February’s Super Bowl defeat.
The couple and their three children – Sterling Skye, three, and son Patrick ‘Bronze’ Lavon Mahomes III, two, and baby Golden Raye , six months – enjoyed some quality time together as the quarterback savored his final moments of freedom.
The family appeared to have jetted off to Mexico to soak up their final rays of summer sun before Mahomes has to get back to business.
However, the signal caller came crashing back to reality Tuesday as he and his family headed back to Missouri – and life on the grind.
Mahomes, along with his teammates including Travis Kelce, is set to report for the Chiefs’ preseason training next week on Tuesday July 22.

And in preparation of his return to the field, the Mahomeses’ family vacation came to an end as he and his wife were spotted traipsing their brood across the airport.
Mahomes was captured carting multiple bags as he strolled across the tarmac towards what appeared to be a private jet. His eldest daughter, Sterling, trotted behind him with the doting dad turning around to check on her.
Bronze was also seen tottering after his father as mom Brittany trailed close behind, keeping tabs on the energetic toddler. There was no sign of the Mahomeses’ youngest bundle of joy, Golden, whom they welcomed in January, but Brittany was pictured carrying a bundle of blankets.
The mother-of-three dressed for comfort in a white sports dress, sneakers and sunglasses. She simply piled her long blonde tresses up in messy updo, held together by a claw clip.
The Mahomes family outing comes after the Chiefs sealed a huge move to boost the quarterback’s chances next season.
Kansas City reached an agreement with Trey Smith over a new four-year, $94million contract just hours before Tuesday’s franchise-tag deadline .
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Smith’s new deal, which includes $70m guaranteed, makes him the highest-paid guard in NFL history.
The 26-year-old is also set to earn the highest-average annual salary and most guaranteed money ever handed to a guard, Schefter added.

With both Smith and Creed Humphrey on the offensive line, Kansas City now has the highest-paid guard and center in the NFL after agreeing a record deal with the former.
Humphrey signed a four-year extension of his own worth $72m with $50m guaranteed in August 2024, which remains the record for a center.
The Chiefs used their franchise tag on Smith in February in order to maintain control of the coveted lineman for another season, albeit at the hefty salary of $23.4m.
Had they failed to come to terms with him before Tuesday’s 4pm EST deadline, he would have been able to become a free agent after the 2025 campaign or be tagged again at an even higher price in 2026.
Instead, the Chiefs now have Smith locked through the 2028 season at an average annual salary of $23.5m.
