Panera has updated its menu for the summer, introducing new shrimp options and market bowls.
The fast casual chain’s new chef-curated bowls feature “elevated ingredients” such as seasoned, diced chicken, slow-roasted pulled pork, a new smoky lemon vinaigrette and creamy garden herb dressings, the chain said.
Panera is offering three bowls to start: A Sesame Ginger Chicken, a Carnitas Elote and an All-In Veggie bowl option.
The new market bowls start at $9.99 and are available in whole and half portions, similar to the chain’s other offerings.
The bowls, as well as a new lineup of summer drinks, salads and enhanced protein options, are part of the chain’s “Panera RISE” initiative, a restructuring effort aimed at reversing a recent spending slump and hitting sales goals by 2028.
“When we announced our Panera RISE strategy last fall, we promised our guests we’d refresh and reinvigorate the menu, and Panera’s new summer lineup delivers directly on that commitment,” said Panera CEO Paul Carbone. “We’re bringing meaningful innovation in multiple categories with a focus on providing worth-it value across the menu.”
In addition to market bowls, Panera plans to introduce an “enhanced lineup” of new salad ingredients, including proteins such as shrimp and steak, alongside other extras such as croissant croutons and buttermilk farmhouse ranch dressing.
The chain has come out with three new salads packed with new premium ingredients: An Ultimate Garden Steak salad, a Shrimply Baja salad and a Farmhouse Crunch salad.
Panera is also expanding upon its new Frescas and Energy Refreshers, which launched this past spring, adding two new fruit-forward flavor options: An Island Mango Energy Refresher and a Blackberry Hibiscus Herbal Iced Tea.
The chain is also expanding its coffee lineup with cafe blend iced coffees and frozen javas, with fun flavors such as snickerdoodle, hazelnut, mocha and rocky road.
Panera hopes to cash in on the protein craze with two new protein-packed breakfast options: A Broccoli Cheddar Frittata and a Five Cheese & Bacon Frittata.
“Our Panera summer menu updates reflect the work we’re doing across the menu to bring guests more of what they love — delicious flavor, high-quality ingredients and elevated options from breakfast to dinner. We’ve upgraded our pantry, introduced new premium salads, new proteins and expanded our beverage options,” said Panera’s Chief Marketing Officer Mark Shambura. “From Market Bowls and Salads to Frozen Javas and Energy Refreshers, this menu is another exciting step forward in creating an even better Panera experience for our guests.”
