Olympic mega star Armand Duplantis has tied the knot with partner Desire Inglander – but was left fuming with details of the big day being leaked.
Duplantis, 26, is a two-time Olympic champion and by far and away the best pole vaulter in the game, having broken the world record 15 times – the last coming in March this year.
Away from the field, though, he has been loved up with model partner Desire for a number of years, with the couple getting engaged in 2024 – with the news revealed at the summer Olympics.
They became husband and wife last week in a lavish ceremony in the south of France, at Chateau de Castellaras in the hills behind Cannes. It arrived after a year of planning, Desire told Vogue. She said of the venue: ‘We already knew that we wanted a wedding in the South of France since we have spent a lot of time there before at my mom and her husband’s house. It was also close to our new home base in Monaco.’
The day also included a welcome party at Villa Eilenroc in Antibes, with the reception a pool party at Villa Castel.
Details of the ceremony were leaked by a Bislett Games organiser, who was also a wedding guest, after he let slip that Duplantis would not be competing in June due to his wedding.

Duplantis told Sport Bladet earlier this year: ‘I don’t have the ring on yet and we’re going to have the real ceremony and wedding during the summer.’
‘I might have wished he wouldn’t say anything. I was a little shocked that he said it, but that’s how it is. It is what it is. It’s a wedding and it happens once in a lifetime. If you miss one or two competitions – who cares?
‘I’ve competed as many times as I want in the last five years. If I have to miss a competition because of a wedding and marry the love of my life, it doesn’t matter.’
The couple legally married months ago in Stockholm, Sweden, because citizens of Sweden must register married in their home country before a ceremony abroad.
At the French ceremony, Desire opted to wear a Swedish designer dress, with work starting on the gown a year prior.
‘Even though we decided to be in the South of France, it was important for me to bring my roots in some way,’ Desire continued, having worked with designer Isa Lanto. ‘We started a year before, and she made my vision come to life.’
She then changed into an off-the-shoulder dress with an open back for the dinner, adding: ‘It was crafted from romantic corded lace and embellished with hand-beaded crystals and pearls.’
Then, for the reception, she wore a custom corseted dress by French designer Antoine Guerin.
Duplantis, meanwhile, inspired by James Bond and his father, donned a white jacket with a black bow tie.
