  • One of the biggest stars in the NRL is open to Wallabies switch

Reece Walsh has sent a shockwave through the NRL after declaring he would be open to switching footy codes.

The superstar Broncos fullback, 23, recently took part in the cross-code reality television show Rivals on Hamilton Island where he was spotted clutching a Gilbert rugby ball on set.

And the premiership-winner has admitted he can see himself one day potentially wearing a Wallabies jersey.

‘The rugby union side of it, I can probably lean towards that,’ Walsh told News Corp.

‘The competitive side in me, for sure. Once you get that footy in your hand and you see what it’s like …it’s like ‘geez could I give this a crack.’

‘I’d probably be silly not to say there’s a bit of interest there…we will see what the future holds for myself.’

Walsh is off-contract at the end of 2029 – and the Clive Churchill medallist did confirm he won’t be playing AFL as ‘there is too much running.’

Renowned for his sense of humour, Walsh posted a story on Instagram last month where he thanked artist Calum Hotham for his mural painting – but it was his six-pack which stunned footy fans.

The excitement machine may have used Chat GPT to playfully give himself a hulking physique – but Daily Mail wasn’t willing to speculate about any potential use of AI.

He won’t forget last year in a hurry, with Walsh a crucial figure as Brisbane won their first NRL title since 2006.

Walsh was also a standout for the Kangaroos as they completed an Ashes series clean-sweep in the United Kingdom.

Footy fans are well aware that Walsh is a serial prankster on Instagram as well as Snapchat.

In September, Walsh was bizarrely seen drinking water out of his toilet – and then informed his followers it helps aid his recovery after a footy match.

The vision quickly went viral, with the Broncos issuing a statement which urged fans not to follow suit.

Walsh continued the banter in the NRL finals with a toilet water try celebration – and ended his Clive Churchill Medal acceptance speech by yelling ‘plumber out!’ after Brisbane beat Melbourne in the NRL grand final.
