Djokovic looks a little unsteady on his feet as he slips behind the baseline but a wild forehand error from Tsitsipas brings up two break points.
Tsitsipas nets on the backhand. Djokovic ramped up the power and direction and Tsitsipas could not live with it.

This is pretty horrible for Tsitsipas. He whiffs at a forehand that caught the baseline, with Djokovic now getting a good chance for the break on 0-30. Djokovic springs into action on the return, but Tsitsipas holds him off.
Djokovic dives to try and reach the Tsitsipas pass, but can’t reach. Tsitsipas holds with an ace out wide.

It is classic Djokovic to save his best level for the most important point of the match so far. Only an hour in, he is in complete control. Tsitsipas puts a limp forehand into the net on set point.

Tsitsipas puts himself under pressure with a couple of poor strokes on either wing, but he responds with an ace down the middle on 30-30. Djokovic catches the baseline and Tsitsipas shanks the forehand. Deuce.
Can Djokovic strike here? He punishes a weak second serve from Tsitsipas with a forehand winner down the line, then Tsitsipas throws a forehand long. Break point.
HOW has Djokovic won that point?! Tsitsipas had two chances to put him away on the smash, but couldn’t. Djokovic hung up a miracle lob to stay in the point, then Tsitsipas blinks after Djokovic snapped a forehand!
What a way to break. That’s a killer for Tsitsipas.

Something is not quite right from Djokovic. He was gesturing to his box at the changeover, then is very slow to get to his feet after a diving volley.
But then he fires back-to-back aces so maybe everything is fine.

Djokovic is stretching out his quad and Tsitsipas recovers from a poor forehand on the opening point to get the hold. Djokovic applauds a forehand winner and Tsitsipas lands the ace out wide.
Djokovic stretches out his legs as he makes his way back to his seat. He was doing a lot of those stretches on Monday when he played Yibing Wu.

Looking at a Djokovic second serve on 0-15, Tsitsipas puts a poor backhand return into the net. He covers his face in anguish. Then another one-handed backhand return goes long.
Djokovic, though, puts away a brilliant spinning volley, and a spectacular lob, to get the game. Wonderful from Djokovic.
