I always wished I was 2-0 up. Yeah, but that’s what we always said, you’re 2-0 up and maybe some players think they can rest a little bit. But as a centre back, and I think I remember a lot of the games, don’t let the opponent back into the game.
Don’t let them go because you need one goal, and the momentum changes. So it was very important. A clean sheet was like heaven. We needed a clean sheet because if you give them even a stupid goal, momentum changes.
One strange ball, one little mistake can change the game again. So I think as a centre back, I was always very focused, even with 2-0 up, because you won’t have a clean sheet, and that’s so important.
Don’t concede stupid goals. So no, I was never relaxed at 2-0 up, maybe a little bit at 3-0, but never 2-0.
