Tampa Bay Buccaneers star Tez Johnson has appeared to launch a new romance just months after he was accused of cheating.
Johnson, 23, was sensationally accused by his ex-fiancee of being unfaithful to her on the same day he asked her to marry him.
But now the wide receiver has seemingly already moved on as, in a recent photo dump on Instagram, he included a picture of his foot touching a woman’s. Their faces were not visible.
His ex-fiancee, Laila Thompson-Wainer, gave her side of the story over their split on TikTok back in February, a little over a year after Johnson got down on one knee.
She claimed that Johnson sent sexually explicit messages to his ex-girlfriend on the morning of the proposal and even after she said yes to being his wife.
‘I was 90 percent sure he was going to propose that day, there were all these little hints,’ she reflected. ‘We went for a photoshoot… he gets down on one knee, my cheeks hurt so much from smiling.

The 23-year-old scored five touchdowns in 16 appearances during his rookie season in Tampa
‘Now, knowing what I know now, this was his timeline. He woke up, texted his ex-girlfriend. Then proceeded to go through the same day I did, gets down on one knee, we commit to each other for the rest of our lives, marriage, crazy concept.
‘Then we get home from our engagement dinner and he texts her this.’
Thompson-Wainer shared what appeared to be screenshots of the sexual messages she says Johnson sent to his ex-girlfriend on the day that they got engaged.
‘I’ve given up trying to understand how someone can be that evil,’ she added. ‘I think you have to be a sociopath and that is just it at the end of the day.’
Johnson was taken in the seventh round of the 2025 NFL Draft and enjoyed an encouraging rookie season in Tampa. The 23-year-old scored five touchdowns in 16 appearances for his team but they failed to make the postseason.
Johnson, who is on a four-year, $4.3million deal with the Bucs, has not responded to the claims made by Thompson-Wainer but she doesn’t appear ready to back down any time soon.
‘If I can make one woman feel seen, heard, or understood, help in a healing journey, then I’ve done what I set out to do,’ she said.
‘If I had to deal with a bad fiance, I would use what I learned about a bad man to spark conversations about healing and build a community of women.
‘That’s what I want this platform to be about. It is all about community. There is a lot to say about that man and the story will come out eventually. This is just me reflecting on a year ago.’
