The NFL’s primetime schedule for Week 1 has been leaked less than four months before the new season gets underway – and fans are in disbelief at how good it is.
The Dallas Cowboys are already set to take on Super Bowl champions the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field to kick off the 2025 season on Thursday, September 4 at 8:20pm ET.
At 8pm on Wednesday night the NFL will officially release its Week 1 schedule in full, with only a series of random fixtures across nine other weeks announced so far.
Yet a few hours before they are unveiled, league insider Ali Meirov claims to have leaked the full primetime lineup for the opening weekend of the season.
Meirov claims the Kansas City Chiefs’ showdown with the Los Angeles Chargers, which the NFL has confirmed is taking place over in Brazil, will be the first Friday Night Football game of the season on September 5.
The Buffalo Bills are then slated to host the Baltimore Ravens at Highmark Stadium on Sunday, September 7 in a highly-anticipated rematch of last year’s AFC Divisional playoff, which Josh Allen and Co got the better of.

And to conclude a mouthwatering Week 1 primetime schedule, the Minnesota Vikings will go away to bitter rivals the Chicago Bears on Monday, September 8.
NFL fans are delighted with the first four primetime fixtures of the new season, taking to social media to salivate over the prospect of them.
One said: ‘What a great lineup holy shit they nailed that’.
‘Do NOT hit me up that weekend I will be BUSY,’ joked another.
A third commented: ‘Ravens vs Bills week 1 SNF. WOW’.
While one pointed out: ‘Ahh now only the months of waiting :(‘.
One person who isn’t best pleased with the NFL’s Week 1 schedule is Chiefs star Travis Kelce.
With the former back-to-back Super Bowl champions making the trip to Brazil for their season opener, Kelce has suggested he isn’t fan of playing in the South American country’s searing conditions.

‘Yeah, we’re definitely playing in Brazil,’ he told brother Jason on the latest episode of their New Heights podcast this week. ‘I’ll be there, not to do a podcast. I’ll be playing football in the f***ing heat.’
Jason, whose former team the Eagles played in Brazil last season, told Travis the field was ‘atrocious’ for their 2024 game against the Green Bay Packers.
‘The old field thing,’ Travis said back, before joking about losing the Super Bowl to the Eagles that same season. ‘I’ll tell you what, they were not slipping in New Orleans. I was slipping in New Orleans.
‘There’s just something about getting close to the equator, I don’t want to put on football uniform. I’ve been in Jacksonville in September, that’s f***ing miserable.
‘Sao Paulo, is that by the water? I’d rather it be dry than humid, I’m a sweaty guy. If it is humid, I am going to be miserable. But I am going to find a way to get a win.’
