The New York Giants rocked the NFL on Saturday night by trading Dexter Lawrence, with head coach John Harbaugh now in possession of two of the top 10 picks ahead of this week’s draft.
Defensive tackle Lawrence has headed to the Cincinnati Bengals for the No. 10 pick, a bombshell move for the man who wanted out of New York that underlines how urgently the Bengals need a winning season with quarterback Joe Burrow.
As for the Giants, Harbaugh now holds two very powerful cards in the first round, which allows him to carve the team out further in his identity. And it sounds like he is now eyeing a move to take a huge prospect on each side of the ball.
The Giants already have the No. 5 pick. For that, according to respected draft analyst Todd McShay, they will most likely take Ohio State linebacker Sonny Styles, although top safety Caleb Downs also has admirers inside Giants HQ.
But now they have a decision to make at No. 10. And McShay believes Harbaugh will take another wide receiver in Jordyn Tyson, handing quarterback Jaxson Dart another big weapon in his first full season as the team’s signal caller.
The Giants offense will be fascinating to watch in 2026 and that’s before the idea of Tyson joining the roster is considered.

Malik Nabers is set to be back to full health after his season was abruptly curtailed in Week 4 when he tore his ACL against the Los Angeles Chargers. Running back Cam Skattebo also underlined his credentials before dislocating his ankle in Week 8.
Harbaugh has also added Isaiah Likely at tight end, a player he knows very well from their time together at the Baltimore Ravens.
The potential addition of Tyson would see Dart have another wide receiver to partner Nabers with – something that the Giants do need to address before the season begins.
There are, of course, other possibilities for them to consider. There is huge excitement around Jeremiyah Love, a running back, going into this week’s draft.
And other wide receivers are creating a buzz as well. Makai Lemon and Omar Cooper Jr are both highly-regarded across the league, but whether they are still on the board by the 10th pick is a different story.
The Giants failed to make the playoffs last season, sinking to a 4-13 record with Harbaugh’s predecessor, Brian Daboll, getting fired midway through the campaign. Dart emerged as their quarterback of the future, dislodging Russell Wilson from the job.
As for Lawrence, the Bengals also failed to reach the playoffs in a year where Joe Burrow missed nearly three months due to turf toe.
The Giants took Lawrence with the 17th pick in the draft back in 2019 and after seven seasons, traded him for the 10th.
