New scholarship opportunities are now available to study in the UK following the launch of the Commonwealth Master’s Scholarship stream for Small Island Developing States (SIDS), a major initiative that will expand educational opportunities for citizens of small island nations across the Commonwealth.
Starting in the 2026 to 2027 academic year, the SIDS stream will offer 20 fully-funded Master’s scholarships per year for two consecutive years to applicants who can demonstrate a passion for social impact and a pathway towards sustainable development following their studies.

- resilient democratic institutions upholding human rights, democracy, and the rule of law
- a resilient environment to combat climate change
- resilient economies that support recovery and prosperity
- resilient societies to empower individuals for a peaceful and productive life
The SIDS stream is open to applicants from Belize, Dominica, Fiji, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, Kiribati, Maldives, Mauritius, Nauru, Papua New Guinea, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu.
