Access UK patents easily with the new One IPO Search tool
The Intellectual Property Office (IPO) has launched a new online patent search tool, One IPO Search, designed to make it easier for businesses and innovators to find and access UK patent information.
Replacing the previous Ipsum service, which handled 200,000 searches last year, the new tool offers improved features that simplify patent searching for both professionals and the public.
One IPO Search allows users to search by everyday keywords, making it easier to find relevant patents, while visual data analysis tools help identify market trends without specialist knowledge.
The launch is a key milestone in the IPO’s One IPO transformation programme, which aims to modernise UK intellectual property services. The programme will also introduce further digital services in 2025, including streamlined patent application processes and enhanced customer account management.
With a user-friendly interface, One IPO Search is designed to make patent information more accessible, supporting UK innovation and business growth.
