New England Patriots star Will Campbell got engaged this week – to the sister of one of his NFL rivals.
After missing out on a Super Bowl ring in February, the offensive tackle was the one giving out a different type of ring over the weekend.
The 22-year-old, who was the Patriots top draft pick last year, popped the question to his longtime girlfriend, Ashlynn Nussmeier, she revealed on social media.
Ashlynn took to her Instagram story on Sunday to show off her sparking new diamond in a selfie.
‘Me & You Forever!!!,’ she wrote over the photo, which showed her leaning lovingly in to her new fiance.
Ashlynn, who is still studying at LSU where Campbell played college ball, was seen supporting her NFL beau at Gillette Stadium throughout the 2025 season, including the AFC Championship game.

However, it wasn’t the first time that she has been acquainted with the NFL. Ashlynn comes from a family of football royalty.
Ashlynn is the daughter of former NFL quarterback Doug Nussmeier, who played in the 1990s with the New Orleans Saints, Denver Broncos, Indianapolis Colts and Chicago Bears.
Doug is currently the offensive coordinator for the Saints under head coach Kellen Moore.
Her brother Garrett was drafted in the seventh round of the 2026 NFL Draft last month by the Kansas City Chiefs.
The happy couple actually have Garrett to thank for their romance with the quarterback, who will play backup to Patrick Mahomes in Kansas City, playing matchmaker.
Campbell played alongside Garrett at LSU with the offensive lineman pass-blocking for the signal caller for three seasons between 2022 and 2024.
‘She’s amazing,’ Campbell previously told Us Weekly of Ashlynn. ‘She has a football background, so she knows what it takes, the sacrifices that have to be made.

‘If she wasn’t as good with that type of stuff, I’m sure it would be a lot more difficult. But she’s a rock star.’
Since leaving Baton Rouge for Foxborough, Campbell established himself as a key reason behind Patriots quarterback Drake Maye domination last season.
However, he suffered a knee injury in late November and only returned in time for the regular season finale.
Campbell protected Maye’s blindside throughout the postseason which saw the Patriots reach the Super Bowl. However, New England ultimately was defeated by the Seattle Seahawks.
