Nelly Furtado has been confirmed as a headline act for Manchester’s Pride festival.
The Maneater and Promiscuous singer joins Brit Award winner Olly Alexander performing on the Sunday night of the event, which runs from 22-25 August.
Former Little Mix star Leigh-Anne and the bands Sister Sledge and B*Witched will also be taking to the stage.
The festival is introducing its first Mardi Gras shows at Mayfield Depot alongside the Gay Village Party.
Manchester’s own DJ Paulette will join the line-up for the Mardi Gras shows.
South African DJ Moonchild Sanelly has been announced for Friday’s Gay Village Party.
Chief executive Mark Fletcher described Canadian singer Furtado as “an icon” and said she, DJ Paulette and Moonchild Sanelly showcased “the diversity of musical tastes that we’re catering for”.
“They’re each sure to create some unforgettable moments.”
He said the event would be “bold, brilliant, and bursting with Pride energy”.
“This is the moment to stand up, come together, party as a protest and ensure Pride continues to shine long into the future,” he added.
