Nebraska star quarterback Dylan Raiola is facing a fresh round of internet hate for his bizarre obsession with copying the look and movements of NFL star quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
The identical nature of the Cornhuskers leader to the Kansas City Chiefs legend was never clearer than Thursday night.
That’s when Nebraska played its season opener against the Cincinnati Bearcats at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, home of the Chiefs, with Mahomes watching on from a luxury suite.
Raiola has been called a copycat of Mahomes before, due to wearing the same jersey number, maintain a similar haircut and facial hair, as well as his overall mannerisms.
Doing it in the house that Mahomes turned into the permanent home of the AFC Championship Game was a step too far for some.
Nebraska did defeat Travis Kelce’s alma mater to win its season opener, with the lasting image still being a possible Mahomes impersonator.
Nebraska quarterback Dylan Raiola is facing a fresh round of trolling for his copycat actions

Raiola is being accused of being a doppelganger of Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes
‘I honestly can’t get enough Dylan Raiola. This is Daniel Day-Lewis level method acting,’ said one fan on social media, mentioning the multiple-time Oscar winner.
‘Dylan Raiola looks so much like Mahomes until you watch him actually play football,’ another person stated.
‘It’s not Dylan Raiola’s fault he has the exact same haircut, facial hair, sunglasses, jersey number, pregame ritual and dresses exactly like him. That’s just coincidence,’ a third continued.
‘There’s no doubt that the first thing Dylan Raiola did was ask where Patrick Mahomes’ locker was,’ a fourth added.
‘Dylan Raiola needs to channel his inner Pat Mahomes rather than Jackson Mahomes,’ a fifth concluded.
A collection of messages blasting Nebraska quarterback Dylan Raiola for his copycat behavior
Raiola may look up to Mahomes as a role model, with the three-time Super Bowl champions’ success hard to truly emulate.
Yet, Raiola has led Nebraska, one of college football’s old-time blue bloods, back from irrelevance, back to bowl eligibility.
Raiola is likely to never escape the copycat shouts as long as he is in the public eye, as Mahomes is universally known among football fans.
Mahomes has not actively tried to shield Raiola from hearing any of those comparisons, as the duo had met before Thursday’s display.
