Ncuti Gatwa made a series of playful jabs at Doctor Who during his opening monologue for SNL UK on Saturday (16 May).
As he hosted the finale of the inaugural season of the sketch show, the actor, 33, spoke about the sci-fi show as he reflected on his career.
“Millions of you watched me as Eric in Sex Education, and then about 12 of you watched me in Doctor Who. Maybe that’s why I kept crying,” he joked.
Gatwa, who played the Fifteenth Doctor from 2023 to 2025, also referenced his Doctor’s regeneration into Billie Piper. “I don’t understand it either,” he laughed, before expressing his admiration for the show.
