Morgan Wallen has addressed the cancelation of his Saturday night concert in Pittsburgh.

Wallen, who played Friday night at the city’s Acrisure Stadium, posted to his Instagram story Saturday afternoon announcing the cancelation due to “severe adverse weather conditions.” He then addressed his fans again Saturday evening following outrage after the storms didn’t quite hit as predicted.

“This morning, my team walked on my bus and told me they had been consulting with local officials and that I should cancel my show in Pittsburgh tonight and I said, ‘Why?’” the divisive country singer, 33, began in an Instagram Story.

“They said that there was going to be strong winds in the area, and I said, ‘OK.’ So, that is what I did and that was the information I had in the moment, and I trusted my team,” he continued. “I understand that wind hasn’t gotten to Pittsburgh yet … The truth of the matter is, I have a large stage that, in those conditions, could become fatal to a lot of folks around it. So, I did the best I could with the information I had in that moment.”

“I’ve been seeing a lot of nonsense about me that is simply not true, and I just wanted to clear the air,” Wallen added. “I think my true fans know that that’s not how I operate in general, but I had to say it. Ya’ll take care.”

However, Wallen’s fans did not take kindly to the cancelation and shared their anger on social media.

“Not a fan and wasn’t going to the show. All I can say is that it stormed and rained here for about an hour or 2 (2-4pm) and he canceled at about 245-3. By 430 it was nothing but sunny skies in Pittsburgh the rest of the day… not a good look cuz,” one person wrote on X while someone else agreed, “It was a sunny day/night in pittsburgh, storms passed 7 hours before he was going on and local meteorologists all said he shouldn’t have canceled. He just didnt want to do it. Hes done here in Pittsburgh.”

Local radio host Marty Griffin posted on X: “Breaking News: Outrage over the Morgan Wallen show cancellation! Acrisure stadium officials fuming. Sources confirm… Wallen left town on plane before they even had meeting and demanded they announce the cancellation after he was in the air.”

The Independent has contacted representatives for Wallen for comment.

The cancelation comes days after Wallen made headlines for his behavior as he continues on his Still the Problem tour.

Video that circulated on social media last week showed the singer appearing to take out his frustrations on a piano after it malfunctioned during his song “Sand in My Boots” at his show at the Empower Field at Mile High Stadium in Denver, Colorado.

After singing the song without accompaniment, Wallen turned around and pushed over the piano until it crashed onto the stage and broke apart as the audience screamed and cheered.
