Mikel Arteta has revealed how Arsenal celebrated their Champions League win over Real Madrid.
After a Declan Rice-inspired 3-0 win at the Emirates, the Gunners traveled to the Spanish capital knowing they already had done foot in the semi-finals for the first time since 2009.
After a dramatic first-half – with Bukayo Saka missing a penalty and a spot-kick for the hosts scrubbed off by VAR – the two sides were inseparable by the break.
However Saka soon atoned for his earlier mistake with a fantastic opener, Vinicius Junior quickly pegging the Gunners back, before a 92nd-minute winner from Gabriel Martinelli made it 5-1 on aggregate to Arsenal.
Arteta revealed to Sky Sports: ‘We had a great dinner in Madrid after the game. A lot of happy faces, great energy, families around. It was a beautiful evening.
‘The next morning, ready for the Premier League again. Start to prepare for Ipswich and the top game we have ahead of us.’

Arteta says he want to ‘delay’ Liverpool winning the Premier League title this weekend
Arsenal sit 13 points behind Liverpool, who could win the title on Sunday if the Gunners lose to Ipswich and they overcome Leicester.
But Arteta is keen to delay the Reds’ party for longer, saying: ‘That’s what we talked about (extending the title race).
‘Increasing the probability and delaying it as much as possible. That’s what we want to do on Sunday.’
Arsenal will take on Paris Saint-Germain in the semi-finals of the Champions League, with the French side defeating Aston Villa 5-4 on aggregate.
The first leg will take place on Tuesday April 29, with the Emirates playing host where fans will be hoping for a similar showing to what their side served up against Real Madrid.
