Mikel Arteta joked that he is the ‘biggest-ever’ Bournemouth fan and pleaded for the Cherries to overcome Manchester City on Tuesday night.
The Gunners beat Burnley 1-0 after a first-half Kai Havertz header to go a penultimate step closer to a first Premier League title in 22 years. They face Crystal Palace on the final day.
Though if Pep Guardiola’s men drop points against Bournemouth, the Gunners will be confirmed as champions.
When asked if he will be a Bournemouth fan for 24 hours, Arteta said: ‘The biggest ever! For Andoni (Iraola) and all the players and all the people that support Bournemouth.
‘I think we are all (fans) because we know that that means that tomorrow if they get a result for us.’
He added: ‘We’ve done what is in our hands. Since the Man City game away, we said it is five games and it was in our hands.

‘We’ve done four and there is one to go — unless something beautiful happens tomorrow night.’
Martin Odegaard roared that Arsenal are now ready to take trophies home.
On the pitch after the victory, Odegaard said: ‘I am really proud. It has been an amazing season so far.
‘We have one big one left and then the Champions League final and we want to take the trophies home.
‘I can promise you all that we will give everything we have, and keep going until the very end and with your support we are going to be ready.’
