Ben White is in contention to play against West Ham on Saturday in a major boost for Arsenal amid their injury woes.
The 27-year-old has been out of action since mid-November after undergoing knee surgery, returning to the Gunners’ bench for their 2-0 victory over Leicester last weekend.
The full back is now ready to take the next step and return to action.
Mikel Arteta said: ‘He’s (White) ready to play. Whether to start or not is a decision we’ll make tomorrow, but he’s certainly available now to be part of the group.’
Meanwhile, Arteta has called on Raheem Sterling to rediscover his form, saying ‘we really need him’ to help support Arsenal’s weakened front line.
Sterling has started just four league games so far this season having underwhelmed since signing on loan from Chelsea on the summer transfer deadline day.

The full back has been out since November and has since had surgery after a knee injury
It comes as the Gunners battle with injuries to Bukayo Saka, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Gabriel Martinelli, Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus.
Arteta added: ‘Yeah (he can have a big impact), and he has to have it because we really need him.
‘Hopefully not (low on confidence) because we try to give him as much as possible, but that’s a question for him.
‘But we are all behind him, we are the best for him and it’s going to be really important and we need his best.
‘And we need the players only with that mindset, to be here to impact the team.’
