A 15-year-old boy killed in a crash involving an electric bike and a car has been named as Devon Simmonds.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said its officers were called to reports of a collision on Rowrah Crescent in Middleton shortly before 12:00 BST on Tuesday.
The teenager was declared dead at the scene.
A 59-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder following the incident, said a GMP spokesperson.
The force said the teenager’s family was being supported by officers.
Detectives are also looking into an alleged theft – over which another 15-year-old boy has been arrested – before the fatal collision.
Det Ch Insp Christopher Dean said: “This terrible incident has seen the death of a teenage boy, and we are working hard to establish the full facts of this case, in what is the very early stages of an investigation.”
