A University of Michigan men’s basketball player suffered a medical emergency on Wednesday and was subsequently rushed to the hospital ahead of Saturday’s Final Four.

As seen in footage recorded by WWJ 950’s Jon Hewett, the player who was later identified as Elliot Cadeau was taken on a stretcher from Michigan’s practice facility in Ann Arbor into a waiting ambulance, all while a towel was draped over his head.

WWJ 950 has since reported that Cadeau is undergoing some cautionary medical supervision, but is expected to rejoin the team shortly.

A New Jersey native, Cadeau has been a key contributor for the Wolverines this season. The 6ft1 junior guard ranks fourth on the team in scoring at 10.2 points a game, while chipping in with an additional 5.8 assists per contest as well.

The Wolverines face another top seed in the Arizona Wildcats on Saturday in Indianapolis for the right to advance to Monday’s national championship.
