Marlins assistant hitting coach Derek Shomon had an explicit way of congratulating one of his players on Sunday as he was heard playfully cursing at Eric Wagaman.
Wagaman hit his seventh home run of the season in the third inning as his solo bomb gave his team a 1-0 lead against the Red Sox.
And as Wagaman made his way back to the dugout afterwards, TV microphones caught Shomon offering some curious praise of the red-haired 28-year-old.
‘You ginger f***,’ he shouted as he high-fived the Wagaman.
The utility player wound up going 2-for-4 in the game as the Marlins pulled off a ninth inning high-wire act to win the game
Miami scored three runs in the final inning to surge into the lead and ultimately earn a 5-3 win in Boston.

Wagaman kept up his momentum on Monday as he hit another home run against St. Louis
And Wagaman kept his momentum going on Monday night as he homered again versus the Cardinals.
However, his team fell 8-3 against St. Louis, falling to 59-66 on the season and 7.5 games out of the final NL wild card spot as of writing.
Miami surprisingly put themselves in the playoff contention earlier this summer as they went on an eight-game win streak and at one point won 14 of 20 games.
However, they’ve crashed back to earth of late as Monday’s loss represented their 11th loss in 15 games.
In his second major league season, Wagaman is hitting .236 with 41 RBIs.
The Marlins will host the Cardinals again on Tuesday and Wednesday.
