Catherine Colloms 

Catherine Colloms has been appointed for a period of 4 years, commencing on 1 January 2027 to 31 December 2030.

Catherine is an experienced Non-Executive Director and Chair. She is currently a Non-Executive Director of the Industrial Development Advisory Board at the Department for Business and Trade and a Non-Executive Director of Gigaclear, the UK’s rural full-fibre network. She also sits on the Advisory Board of Labour Digital and is Vice-Chair of the Wiener Holocaust Library. She specialises in risk and reputation management in regulated industries, and is passionate about bringing diversity into companies and their culture.

Catherine brings direct experience of racing and gambling from her time as Corporate Affairs Director at Paddy Power from 2013 to 2016, where she led the Responsible Gambling team and helped to establish the Senet Group, the industry’s first self-regulatory body. She subsequently served as Director of Corporate Affairs and Brand, and a member of the Executive Committee, at Openreach from 2016 to 2024.

Remuneration and Governance Code

As a Member of the Horserace Betting Levy Board she will be remunerated £19,665 per annum. 

This appointment has been made in accordance with the Cabinet Office’s Governance Code on Public Appointments. The appointments process is regulated by the Commissioner for Public Appointments. Under the Code, any significant political activity undertaken by an appointee in the last five years must be declared. This is defined as including holding office, public speaking, making a recordable donation, or candidature for election. 

Catherine Colloms has declared no such political activity.
